Today's final topic is the island of Lyeunia. Most of you are probably already aware of it as a place, but we're going to go over its history today. Where to start with Lyeunia? It is the home of the great Collegium. It has three holds and one weyr. It is also surprisingly rich in mineral resources making it a unique feature of our world. Four years after its discovery word was sent out by the group that was sent to study it that, that was the case. Little more than a decade and a half later the Delant Hold formed up from the mining camp. It is a wealthy hold and word of mouth says that its residents want for little. On the coast there is the Valshir Hold which was some time ago an outpost. It's primary function is as a harbor to handle the trade for the Delant hold. The final Hold is that of Crelek and it handles provisions for the people of the island.
It is hardly fair to speak of Lyeunia island and its land marks without mentioning the Collegium. The Collegium has the most humble of beginnings. It was one a craft hall for the Coggling craft. Cogglercraft, as you are all aware, is a fairly new craft so it is surprising that their hall was able to convert itself into the great center of learning that it has become. It is speculated that the Collegium would not have come into being if not for the wealth of metal the hold possesses. The Collegium is something of a massive craft hall intended for all crafters to come and teach their skills to the next generation. It is said that it is the result of The Master Coggler's desire to see the world advance so that those who come after us have a greater foundation to build upon.
We shall at last speak of the Weyr which was constructed upon the island in recent years. A rough start preceded it, you see. The Eastern and Western Weyrs could not agree upon who was to protect the island and debated furiously over it for several years. In a moment of clarity they decided it would be in each and all's best interest for them to each contribute dragon-riders, candidates and eggs to the island. It took two years from when their decision was made, but the Bivium Weyr was constructed and fifteen riders from each Eastern and Western made their way to the structure to set up shop, as it were. Their mediation and unselfish devotion to their charge should be an inspiration to us all.
Does anyone have any questions as to the topics we have covered today?
