The Barracks

Junior weyrlings and candidates are housed in barracks. The candidate barracks consist of two long, narrow chambers with cots on either side, one for the boys and one for the girls. Each cot has a chest for personal items tucked underneath. At the rear of each candidate barrack is a large chest filled with white robes in various sizes and a myriad of rope belts, from which candidates can draw for the hatching. The junior weyrling barracks consist of five large chambers, each one containing ten cots. Beside each cot is a stone sleeping platform for the growing dragonets. As a hatchling outgrows its platform, it and its rider are moved up to a larger location until the dragon is capable of flight and the weyrling pair is awarded their own weyr.
