~Candidate Ariya~
A slim built brunette teen walked down the hall of the candidate barracks. She was dressed in a simple blue tunic and black trousers that were tucked into calf-length boots. Her hair was braided back into a plait for the time being, a few strands hanging free around her face since they'd escaped the leather strap she had tied her hair back with earlier. Her walk was confident despite the fact that she was still learning her way around the weyr. She had only gotten here a few days ago so she hadn't had the time to figure out her way around. Brown eyes flickered between the rooms for a moment before she decided on one. She poked her head into the room and found, to her relief, that it was empty. It wasn't that she wouldn't enjoy some company it was just that it was nice to have a moment to herself. She would be getting less of that as the time drew nearer to the hatching she was sure.
She went into the room and set the worn brown pack that had been on her shoulder on the bed with a sigh. She was here and while it might take some time for her to find her bonded she would make the best of it. She sat on the bed and glanced over at her pack. She really out to get unpacked but she wasn't feeling up to it just then for some reason. A sudden pop alerted her to the arrival of a dark green firelizard with over sized wings. Brown eyes flickered up to the creature as the green chirped at the girl before settling on Ariya's shoulder. A smile flickered across the girl's lips.
"Good to see you too. I hope you weren't causing any trouble, Circa." the teen said running a finger down the green's back. Circa gave hers an indignant look and huffed a bit. Of course she hadn't been causing any trouble! The idea was simply preposterous! Ariya chuckled at her pet. She loved Circa, really she did, but the green had the annoying habit of getting into all sorts of trouble. The teen sighed a bit, her brown eyes flickering to the door which was ajar. She wondered if she would meet anyone. She'd been so busy helping her parents get settled in she hadn't gotten to meet any of her fellow candidates. Would they like her? Would she get along with them? Only time would tell.
