Note: for our timeline, Ramoth never went back in time, and AIVAS was never discovered. There was still a white dragon named Ruth, but thread was never eradicated. Thanks to Ramoth's extraordinarily large clutches, Fort hold was eventually repopulated. Over time, the names “Fort” and “Benden” came to be exclusively formalized, and the two sites were commonly referred to by location, as “Eastern” and “Western”.
001 - 10th interval begins.
025 - Tithes start to diminish.
031 - A brilliantly copper-hued dragon is hatched, nearly the size of a small bronze, and impressed to a girl.
044 - The copper dragon successfully flies a queen. His progeny include two oddly dappled dragons, one in yellow and one in a tealy blue-green.
063 - A small silver dragon is hatched.
067 - The silver dragon lays a diminutive clutch of two eggs.
078 - Tithes begin to grow sufficiently scarce that the Weyrs begin sending out hunting and fishing parties of their own, to supplement their foodstuffs.
115 - A clockworker and journeyman smith devise a few creative uses of their respective crafts.
121 -The pair declare their studies to be “coggling”.
132 - A handful of students take up the practice under the smith and the clockworker.
145 - Coggling is formally recognized as its own craft, taught in a few scarce pockets across Pern.
165 - An island is discovered to the east of the Northern continent.
169 - A detailed survey of the island reveals the presence of several considerable veins of metal on the mountainous island.
175 - Plans go into the works to utilize the resource-rich island via the construction of a Hold.
185 - Delant Hold is founded and the mines are opened up.
188 - Valshir Outpost is rebuilt into Valshir Hold to serve as the main port for Delant Hold's resources.
190 - Crelek Hold is founded to provide foodstuffs to the other island holds. Simultaneously, the first Cogglercraft Hall is founded, and the first Mastercoggler of Pern is appointed.
192 - The Weyrs enter debate over who will protect the island from the impending pass and who will, by extension, lay claim to the resources there via tithe. The Cogglercraft Hall is expanded and transformed into a Collegium at the behest of the Mastercoggler.
195 - With threadfall around the corner and the Weyrs unable to come to an agreement, the decision is made to found a new Weyr, Bivium, the sole purpose of which will be to protect the island. Both Weyrs initiate a number of plans to take control of the Weyr via loyal riders and candidates.
197 - Construction on Bivium Weyr is completed, and 15 riders, numerous candidates, and a selection of 17 eggs are sent from each Weyr in the hopes of bringing to life (and controlling) the newly-founded Weyr.
