Dragons
1) Official candidates must be searched. Unofficial candidates should fill out the appropriate other template, then PM the candidate specific sections of the candidate template to an administrator. No more than one stands impression will occur per hatching.
2) Yes, official candidates have to wear the white robe and rope belt. Footwear may be as desired.
3) There are no candidate lessons. There are chores. The Candidatemaster will post these and bed assignments outside of his/her office. You do not have to rp chores. You are, however, encouraged to.
4) If you don't play the character, you won't impress.
5) There is an optional candidate questionnaire. You do not have to fill this out. If you choose to, PM it to me or Lilacdew. This questionnaire will be used to give us a feel for personality traits your character may possess that have not appeared in RP. It will always take a second place to the rp.
6) If there is a colour you absolutely do not want, note it and we'll try to be obliging. If you limit yourself to one colour, regardless of what colour it is, you can expect that you probably won't impress. You can, however, cite preferences, if you so desire.
7) Do not complain about what colour you impress. If, however, you do not feel you can play the dragon you receive, or you feel the dragon's personality is detrimental to your rp, please contact an administrator via pm, and we will try to work something out with you. We do still want this to be fun, after all.
8) Candidates must be between 12 and 22 to impress, with 14-22 receiving preference.
9) Approximately 50% or greater of all hatchings will be npc impressions. There is a reason for this. These characters are not adoptable.
Whers
1) Wher candidates do not wear white robes. They appeal to the wher mother once the clutch hardens, and they receive an egg if she likes them. The candidate then takes the egg and tends it until it hatches, at which time he/she will feed the wher, including a sampling of his/her blood. This is when impression is made and the wher gives the handler his/her name.
2) Wher candidates must be at least 12 turns of age. There is no upper limit on ages.
3) Rules 3-7 for dragon candidates apply to wher candidates, as well. Be sure to read them carefully.
Firelizards
Firelizard hatchings are handled distinctly on Shards of Glass. Here is the procedure that will be followed.
1) The administration decides it's time for a hatching.
2) The clutch mother is randomized. Every female firelizard clutches, but most of these clutches occur where the owner cannot locate the eggs, if he or she even knows about them. These clutches are the ones that are found, and anyone with a female firelizard is eligible to obtain one.
3) The player of the firelizard in question will receive a pm detailing how many eggs and of what sizes were found. Each egg is numbered.
4) The owner of the firelizard takes possession of the eggs. He or she (here meaning the character) may then do with them as he or she sees fit, giving them out, selling them, or keeping them.
5) Whenever any firelizard egg changes hands, the administration needs to be PMed with the number of the egg and the character who has taken possession of it. Both giver and receiver should send this PM, to be certain we get it.
6) If you obtain an egg, PM the administration with any special care you are taking to be prepared for the hatching. If you open a thread and make an rp post doing so, PM us the link.
7) When the time comes, the eggs will hatch. There is a chance the firelizard will go wild. This is where the preparation comes in. If your character has prepared for the hatching properly, his or her chances of impression will be increased. The more firelizards your character is trying to impress at once, the lower the chances of impression will be. The better he or she has prepared, the higher the chances will be.
Eggs purchased from the shop will always successfully impress.
Please note that the contents of the eggs from a firelizard clutch are generated and stored in the administrative boards before the clutch is sent out, so it is very important that you notify us of the transfer of eggs, by the name of the recipient and the number of the egg.
