That leads beyond this hold...
Appearance:
Standing at 5'4", Ashalynn isn't the tallest person around. In fact she's on the shorter end, but she doesn't let it get her down. She is slender of build with a soft, graceful muscular structure. She is curvy enough to show she's definitely female, but isn't blessed as far as assets go. Her blonde hair and blue eyes make her stand out in a crowd, and she loves to wear bright colors to make herself stand out even more.
As stated before she loves bright colors. Of course, she is tasteful when it comes to outfits and is never gaudy-bright, just simply bright and bold. She often wears skirts and tunics, but what she wears depends on her mood. She wears flying leathers of course when she's flying cause it would be crazy not to.
That wends its way around the hill...
Personality:
Bold, charismatic, bubbly, Ash is a definite people person. She likes to be around people. Ashalynn was, from the beginning, very determined. If she wanted something, she was going to get it somehow. This trait wasn’t quite so obvious before her mother was injured and passed, but it was there. As a little girl, if Ash wanted something, she tended to get it just because of her persistence or impatience. She wanted what she wanted, and she wanted it right then! No questions asked. Now that she is older she’s not quite so obvious about getting what she wants when she wants it, but she’s certainly just as determined. It was that internal drive - that determination - that enabled her to take care of her sister, Leah, and her father after her mother died - it was what let her go on. Sometimes her determination is a good quality, at other times it only causes her problems. Little Ash can be too stubborn for her own good.
Ash is also calm and logical. Though, it is true she has her spastic moments, normally she’s very cool headed. Her room is orderly, her clothing is neat, and she’s a very organized person. Her temper doesn’t flare often, and when it does there is good reason for it. In most situations, her head overrules her heart - though often the two work together. This probably isn’t always good, though, in some situations, the partnership proves helpful. For instance, she was able to agree with Leah and leave her poor father alone because it was what was best for the girls, and she had to take care of Leah. It was the logical decision, and, though she doesn’t quite regret it, she does feel guilty about leaving him.
This guilt may stem from her almost innate drive to take care of others. Ash is motherly when the situation calls for it - a characteristic that was further developed after her own mother’s death. She was always a concerned, caring person - she wanted everyone to be happy all the time when she was small - and now it’s blossomed into motherly instincts. She loves children. They like her company in return because she’s genuinely happy to be around them, to play, to tell stories, whatever.
As was mentioned, Ashalynn does have her less logical side. She knows she’s pretty, and she likes flirting. Boys are fun in moderation. The older sister might not be quite as flirty as the younger, but she certainly does her share. (Her flirting isn’t always obvious - she’s just so sweet, so cute! And those big blue eyes!) When together, the two girls are quite a pair. At heart, Ashalynn is really quite a hopeless romantic, which definitely doesn’t fit with her logical temperament. She adores love stories and selfishly hopes for a happy ending of her own. She would like a more serious relationship eventually, but for now Ash is content to have a little fun - especially since she hasn’t had any in a long time. The more light-hearted side of her personality is only resurfacing since the girls reached the weyr - since they left the hard life fate had handed them. Now that her life is more normal for someone her age, the side of her that acts fifteen is coming back quickly.
Does it go farther on until...
History:
Born to a pair of middling farmers in Fort Hold, Ashalynn was the baby of the family and spoiled rotten. She was the protected, doted on baby sister with three older brothers to make sure no one messed with her until her younger sister Leah was born. Then Ash went from spoiled younger sister to doting big sister. She had a normal childhood, playing pranks, getting into mischief, and all the other things children do.
She helped her mother around the house and learned to cook at an early age. Her oldest brother, Siander, apprenticed to be a farmer while the middle brother, Julian, apprenticed to be a miner. Her brother, Rupert, went to be a carpenter. Which left Ash and Leah the only children at home until she decided to become a jeweler at thirteen.
That same year she decided to become a candidate. The lessons were hard but rewarding. During the next four years she didn't impress, but at seventeen walked the tables to become a journeyman jeweler. Also during this time her mother was severely injured after falling off a runner. The healers did all they could but they couldn't fix her broken back. She died in her sleep shortly after Ash's sixteenth birthday.
At the hatching a little over a turn later she stood and impressed to Green Blyth, even though she was still in mourning. The pair flew through weyrling lessons and graduated toward the top of their class despite their rank. Their teacher, though, said it was because of their hard work and effort.
During this time their father passed away from grief and Leah came to stay at Benden permanently. Ash stayed at Benden for two more years before learning that Bivium needed riders. She decided to transfer because it would be a good opportunity for her and her sister and an adventure. They eagerly await the hatching of the Gift Clutch, though Leah isn't standing.
It ends in sunset gold?
