"A dragon's pace, a dragon's ride...." Taliene muttered to herself, strumming lightly on the gitar in her lap. She played the musical phrase over and over, to little avail to say the least. For some reason, the Harper was just having a hard time pinning down the music she wanted for this particular song. It was frustrating, and show her right to be tuning with a tune rather than the words. Normally, it'd flow from her with the words, then music to follow. This time, it was the opposite, with a brilliant catchy tune and nothing in it. Again, frustrating. She sat back against a nearby rock, the warbling of her two firelizards the only distraction in the quiet evening. Smiling lightly, she chuckled, "I see, Mezzo. You like it?" The little blue chirruped a response as Treble merely trilled. Positive, if nothing else. That was when she sighed, once more looking up at the sky. Drat it all. Her first bit of time off in a while, and all she could do was sit here near the pool in the Bowl, attempting to force words that came so naturally. What was a girl to do? With another sigh, she once more bowed her head, strumming the musical notes one after another, as though the words would flow to her through it.

Weft crooned softly along with the harper’s singing, not quite on key, but he thought he was. His little feet made tiny shuffling sounds on the floor. The harper stopped and her turned his head, puzzled at why she didn’t continue. He liked the song. He thought his ‘Drimme might, too. He looked over at Treble, keeping a good ways away from the Bronze, giving the muscular firelizard an good amount of space. Weft took in the sight of Mezzo, his eyes reflecting the soft blue for a moment of that flitter’s hide. Weft snuffled the air and then slowly moved a little closer, body relaxed, demeanor friendly, his face moving up to Taliene once as though to ask where the music had gone.

Taliene looked up as she heard the other sound of another firelizard's warble and glanced around. When he moved closer, she blinked, recognizing the little brown, "You're Weft, aren't you? Did you come to listen to me?" The Harper smiled and patted the ground at her side, "C'mon then, friend. You can sit here." Treble croomed, sitting down on her shoulder with a bob of his head, as though welcoming the new one. The girl smiled, petting the lizard before she began strumming again, "Well, Weft. I'm stuck on a song that I can't seem to get right. Normally it flows together, or the lyrics come..but this is just frustrating. Perhaps we can figure it out together then, eh?" The girl bowed her head again over her gitar, plucking the tune in a variation of times as though the variations would offer the oh so ellusive words she had yet to find.

Weft looked pleased that Taliene knew his name and he pattered a little closer. When Treble bobbed at him, Weft came right up and made himself comfy, folding his wings close and mrrring a sound of delight. It was pleasing to be welcomed by the bronze firelizard, and Weft was proud of himself. He puffed out his chest to show it. Weft tilted his head, listening more to the melodic sound of Taliene’s voice than to her actual words. Then he began to croon softly, his little voice rising, a bit warbled, attempting to sing along.

Taliene smiled at the little lizard and returned to bowing her head over the gitar. It was with a bit of frustration that she strummed the notes, still as of yet finding the right words she wanted for them. It was hard, at times, to trigger such things just because one was trying to hard. Or was it, perhaps, that this was a song not meant for words? No, this was something that begged the accompaniment of them, but the words she was choosing weren't powerful enough for it. Perhaps in the end it was more that she had a hard time getting out the thoughts that were so meaningful to it that it just seemed to be a hopeless cause in the end. Either way, Taliene just sighed, listening idly to the firelizard's voices as they crooned to the song she was playing. Maybe they'd have something she couldn't figure out for herself. Stranger things were known to happen, right?
