Within this thread is the information on all of the dragons, their colors and in fact, the mutations that evolution has caused to build within the world to date. These mutations are rare, but have cropped up enough to make them important enough to warrant some attention. We are also going to include a small bit on what's been discovered about each of the dragons. GoldBronzeCopperBrownYellowBlueTealGreenSilver

This listing has been separated by gender for convenience. This list contains the females of the dragon species. Gold Dragon Gender: female Size: 22 meters Clutch Size: 20-50 Impresses: females Top ranked amongst dragons, largest in size, and the mother of a race, it is to gold dragons that falls the onerous task of maintaining and expanding the draconic population. Rising typically one to two times per Turn, she produces large clutches with every flight. Gold dragons are considered queens of the Weyr, and the rider of the first queen to rise after the previous senior queen passes on becomes the Weyrwoman. It is to her dragon that even the other gold dragons defer. Green Dragon Gender: female Clutch Size: 0 Size: 11 meters Impresses: any The greens are amongst the smallest of the dragons, smaller then the blue but larger then the silver. Greens are completely sterile. They are also one of the fastest and most agile of dragons. The only dragon more agile is the silver. Greens tend to be lithe in build, with wiry figures and whippish tails. A typical green flies three to four times per turn. Greens make up 50% of the dragon population on average. Silver Dragon Gender:female Clutch Size: 1-8 Size: 9.4 meters Impresses: any Like the other mutations, silvers appear to have come about through the process of evolution. Smaller even than greens, with longer necks and tails, slimmer builds, and smaller, leaner bodies, these dragons are downright diminutive. While a green lacks stamina, sometimes only able to last half a fall, a silver is lucky to make it a full half fall. Silvers also have difficulty carrying more than one rider in addition to their own. Conversely, however, their infrequent flights have a chance to produce small clutches. A silver rises one to two times per turn and clutches an average of one time in four flights, though this rate varies slightly by dragon.

Under this listing are the males of the dragon species. Oddly, several more mutations have cropped up here as well, but due to their rarity, they tend to be a bit harder to pin down. Bronze DragonGender: male Size: 20.4 meters Flies: Golds, occasionally Greens, rarely Silvers Impresses: males Ranked just below the gold dragon, bronze is the second largest of the dragons. He's strong, healthy, capable, and powerful. Bronze dragons tend to be very fit, with extraordinary stamina and the ability to fly a complete fall without problem. However, their bulk does little for their grace, and they tend to be less than agile fliers, relying on their impressive strength and ability to sustain long flights, instead. Though a bronze may, and often does, chase a green or silver, it is rare that he succeeds in catching one, due to the grace required for such a flight. Copper DragonGender: male Size: 18.85 meters Flies: Gold, Green, or Silver, by temperament Impresses: females First of the rare draconic mutations, and the largest, as well, coppers are some little bit smaller than bronzes, but still measure quite large from nose tip to tail tip. Leaner than bronzes, they lack some of the bronze stamina, possessing a bit less even than the average brown, for all their size, but make up for this lack with a bit more grace than most bronzes and an extraordinary bundle of cunning. Coppers are amongst the most intelligent of dragons. Brown DragonGender: male Size: 17.28 meters Flies: Greens, Silvers, occasionally Golds Impresses: males On the larger end of the middling sizes, browns are capable of chasing gold dragons with a measure of success, though their stamina is rarely match to the larger bronzes. Strong, wiry, and hale, a brown comes closer to the balance between grace and stamina, giving them the rare ability to fly most any female. Yellow Dragon Gender: male Size: 15.71 meters Flies: Greens and Silvers Impresses: any These beauties vary in color gradients, sometimes pink and yellow while others may be yellow and green. The colouring that makes them identifiable is the yellow that predominates their hide. The yellow is one of the mutations found in dragons. He'll often rise to catch the green in contest with the blues, and while he's bigger then they are, he's not as agile. His ability is more in short distance spurts of speed. Indeed, even a green or silver cannot keep up with a yellow when one should take it into his head to move swiftly. However, this is only a burst speed, and his normal flight speed is more akin to that of a large blue or very small brown. Blue DragonGender: male Size: 14.15 meters Flies: Greens and Silvers Impresses: any The blue dragon is extremely small of stature, often scarcely larger than a green. These dragons are often overlooked due to their being lesser in size. However they are very special. Agile, graceful, and, perhaps most impressive, sensitive, blues make up a powerful fighting force in the wing, as well as being among the most sensitive of search dragons. Though any dragon is perfectly capable of searching, blues tend to be proficient at locating some of the harder-to-find candidates. While not as able in stamina as the larger brown, bronze and coppers, the blues are much more agile, able to pluck thread in and around where their larger brothers miss it. Teal Dragon Gender: male Size: 12.73 meters Flies: Greens and Silvers Impresses: any The teal dragon is another mutation that has cropped up. Shockingly, this dragon is dappled between green and blue, occasionally bearing reds or violets places, as well, and averages a bit smaller than a blue dragon. Energetic and strong, this dragon is only slightly less agile than a blue, his muscular build making him stronger than his larger but less bulky brother. For all his somewhat diminished agility, however, the teal dragon tends to be very fast, his stronger chest allowing him to make greater demands of his wings when he flies.
